    TRAIL REPORT
    Feb 19, 2012 at 09:42 PM
    Conditions:
Chute Pond and Lakewood's Paul Bunyan trails remain open, but are virtually unrideable. The only trails in Oconto County that are worth riding are Red Arrow Townsend. Their wooded trails are fair to good, some better. The NST is in pretty rough shape throughout the entire county. We need a big dump of snow- NOW- to save our riding season.

    TRAIL REPORT
    Feb 13, 2012 at 03:45 PM
    Conditions:
Chute Pond got 4" of fresh snow Thursday night. Trails range from very poor (pipeline and 18 trail from Crooked Lake to Chute Pond, northern sections of the RR grade) to mostly fair, to some good. Flat trails held their base beter than hilly trails, which really have never gone beyond "early season" type conditions because of the lack of snow to fill in the ruts, grooves, and holes. You need to be willing to ride through the 25% rough stuff to get to the 75% decent stuff- otherwise, this isn't the place for you right now. We're hoping for a couple decent snowfalls over the next week or so, which will help improve things in this area.

    TRAIL REPORT
    Jan 30, 2012 at 11:11 AM
    Conditions:
Just got word that a snowmobiler went through the ice on Chute Pond while attempting to leave the lake in Snag Bay to access the Everbreeze trail. This happened last year, now again this year. I think everyone should cross off this spot from their list of ways to leave Chute Pond before someone gets hurt. There are plenty of other ways to leave the lake safely- Doze Inn, County Park boat ramp, Kingston Road, Bonita Creek, Everbreeze hill- these are all legal ways to leave the lake. Please don't use Snag Bay.

    TRAIL REPORT
    Jan 29, 2012 at 07:19 AM
    Conditions:
We did not get more than 1/2" of snow Friday night, so conditions didn't change much. Based on a 79 mile ride yesterday, here are the local trail conditions: Chute Pond trails in poor to fair "early season" condition. Lakewood Paul Bunyan are in poor to fair condition. Red Arrow Townsend trails were in fair condition yesterday, but will improve to good to very good once the groomers work their magic. We need more snow for conditions to improve in this area.

    TRAIL REPORT
    Jan 27, 2012 at 05:58 AM
    Conditions:
Chute Pond trails opened Thursday 1/26 in very early season condition. There's just not that much snow to work with. The Nicolet State Trail (corridor 7 railroad grade) from Chute Pond to Townsend is in overall fair condition. Wooded trails south of Townsend will be in poor to fair condition. Hopefully we will get the 2-3" of snow predicted for tonight. That will help a lot.
